Karen Basmagy, Owner

I discovered beautiful Hunterdon County back in 1996 and fell in love...I've made this area my home for the better a part of 24 years. I began pet sitting professionally in 2003 as Creature Comforts Pet Sitting. Now, I'm happy to be able to continue to provide loving, impeccable care to my clients' pets as the owner of Hunterdon's Best Pet Care. For me, customer service and compassion are my top priorities!

I am a former local farm owner, instructor in equine assisted therapies and 4H leader, with a degree in equine farm/business management. I’ve raised horses, goats, and chickens and taught husbandry to Hunterdon County kids as a 4H leader, worked in endangered species management, wildlife rehabilitation and rescue...and last but not least, shared my home and heart with the  a multitude of furred and feathered friends throughout my life time.

In addition to managing HBPC, I am a certified Health and Wellness Coach assisting women in the second half of life to achieve balance in body, mind and spirit.

Katie McCutcheon - Pet Sitter, Overnights & Farm Care

Hi, I’m Katie! I grew up in Annandale and have always had a huge soft spot for all kinds of animals. I began riding horses at the age of 9 and spent as much time as possible at the barn where I helped with barn work, horse care, summer camps, teaching riding lessons, and helping new horses and OTTBs adjust to the pampered life of becoming lesson horses. I also volunteered on the weekends at Mane Stream Therapeutic Riding Center! In the midst of all this, I loved growing up and making memories with our family dog Cubby (a beautiful Golden Retriever/Chow rescue and the love of my life) and helping to care for the animals of our friends and family when they were away. When I left for Cazenovia College, I enrolled in their riding lesson program and also earned myself a seat on their IHSA varsity hunt seat team.

My heart now belongs to my rescued Maine Coon/Tabby mix, Mango, and I spend most of my days spoiling him with tuna treats and kisses (he loves the tuna, and tolerates the kisses). I currently work as an independent Graphic Designer/Illustrator creating wedding stationery and watercolor artwork, I am also NJ Real Estate Agent, and I am very proud to say I am a Pet Sitter for HBPC! I love this job because it allows me to have interactions with all kinds of different animals and their families. It’s a wonderful privilege to be trusted with the care of a family’s pet and/or farm, and I always make sure each animal feels loved and attended to. I have always considered animals to be an equal part of my family, and I cannot wait to meet you and your furry/feathered/scaled family members.

Diana Melisi- Pet Sitter, Dog Walker

I have loved dogs my whole life, and became very interested in dog & cat behavior years ago. Since then, I have read several books on the subject.

I received my “formal training” raising a Seeing Eye puppy and wanted to do that forever, but it interfered with, and was very stressful for my 2 indoor cats. I turned to rescue and found that to be very rewarding...but, I needed more.  That’s when I saw an ad for HBPC. I get my dog/cat fix every day and find that I love each one like they were my own! :)

Prior to joining the HBPC team, I worked as Project Coordinator for Metcalf & Eddy, and in finance for Aecom, spanning 25 years...and have since retired from corporate life.

I am happy and proud to be working for someone as reputable and trusted as Karen Basmagy and Hunterdon’s Best Pet Care. When I’m not taking care of pets for HBPC, I volunteer at Hope House in Flemington with their food ministry, helping the needy.

I look forward to meeting you and caring for your beloved pets!
