Meet Our Pet Sitters!
Karen Basmagy, Owner
I discovered beautiful Hunterdon County back in 1996 and fell in love...I've made this area my home for the better a part of 24 years. I began pet sitting professionally in 2003 as Creature Comforts Pet Sitting. Now, I'm happy to be able to continue to provide loving, impeccable care to my clients' pets as the owner of Hunterdon's Best Pet Care. For me, customer service and compassion are my top priorities!
I am a former local farm owner, instructor in equine assisted therapies and 4H leader, with a degree in equine farm/business management. I’ve raised horses, goats, and chickens and taught husbandry to Hunterdon County kids as a 4H leader, worked in endangered species management, wildlife rehabilitation and rescue...and last but not least, shared my home and heart with the a multitude of furred and feathered friends throughout my life time.
In addition to managing HBPC, I am a certified Health and Wellness Coach assisting women in the second half of life to achieve balance in body, mind and spirit.

Diana Melisi- Pet Sitter, Dog Walker
I have loved dogs my whole life, and became very interested in dog & cat behavior years ago. Since then, I have read several books on the subject.
I received my “formal training” raising a Seeing Eye puppy and wanted to do that forever, but it interfered with, and was very stressful for my 2 indoor cats. I turned to rescue and found that to be very rewarding...but, I needed more. That’s when I saw an ad for HBPC. I get my dog/cat fix every day and find that I love each one like they were my own! :)
Prior to joining the HBPC team, I worked as Project Coordinator for Metcalf & Eddy, and in finance for Aecom, spanning 25 years...and have since retired from corporate life.
I am happy and proud to be working for someone as reputable and trusted as Karen Basmagy and Hunterdon’s Best Pet Care. When I’m not taking care of pets for HBPC, I volunteer at Hope House in Flemington with their food ministry, helping the needy.
I look forward to meeting you and caring for your beloved pets!
